Gary Speelman

Gary E. Speelman, age 69, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Gary was born on December 5, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio to Dale and Marilyn (Kaiser) Speelman. Gary was a graduate of E.L. Bowsher High School, class of 1972, and attended the University of Toledo. He enjoyed coaching his children’s t-ball, softball, and basketball teams and spent his free time watching the History Channel and collecting coins. Gary was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Indians, and The Ohio State University Buckeyes. 

 Gary will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years Liz (Heldt), his children Sara (Judson), Andrew, and Ashley (Freely), his grandchildren Lily, Marley and William Lohman, and Quinn Speelman, his sister Sally (Bill) Zak, and sister-in-law’s Sally Speelman, Teresa (Gordon) MacRitchie, Barbara Jordan and Judy Heldt.

 Gary is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Roger Speelman, and his daughter-in-law Bailey Speelman.

 The family would like to thank staff of Care360 Hospice for their incredible help, compassion, care, and support through this difficult time.
